Event Details:

Join us at 1pm on 12/21/2025 for a fascinating lecture by Peter Marsh detailing the revolutionary WWII industrial effort led by Henry Kaiser in Oregon.

This isn't just a story about ships; it's about transforming the American home front! Peter J. Marsh's work explores how Kaiser, starting with no prior experience, pioneered mass production techniques like prefabrication to build thousands of Liberty and Victory ships at record speeds and so much more!

Peter Marsh spent 40 years as a marine reporter in the Pacific Northwest and over that time researched and collected information and materials on local shipbuilding during WW II. Leading him to Lawrence Barber’s work as a photo-journalist in Portland, OR who documented the Kaiser Yards and paved the way for Marsh to continue documenting and keeping this amazing piece of Oregon and Americana history alive for future generations to learn about!
